LEFA rewarded with a M20 Million building fund for good governance

Lesotho Football Association president Advocate Salemane Phafane KC unveiled six M20 Million FIFA sponsored projects which will build concurrently and be concluded in 16 months.

He said LEFA was allowed to start these projects after passing rigorous FIFA assessment particularly in their good governance and accountability.

As he disclosed the association’s projects in a groundbreaking ceremony at Bambatha Tsita Sports Arena on Wednesday, Adv Phafane explained that during the refurbishment of LEFA Headquarters, all offices will be moved with an exception of a few basic ones until the work is finished.

He said all companies involved in the projects are Basotho Companies which have passed a tough LEFA vetting process, except for the artificial Turf Installation which will be done by a Netherlands based company endorsed by FIFA.

Trend Group Lesotho will oversee the whole renovation, building and surveying and engineering projects either by out sourcing or through its subsidiaries. According to the Trend Group Managing Director Mr Lenka Mphafi, they are well equipped to do the work as could be seen through many projects around the country.

This will bring artificial turf grounds to four including those at Maputsoe and Setsoto Stadiums.

The projects are as follows:

6	Installation of Artificial Turf at Mohale’s Hoek	To help southern teams to host their matches		Netherlands Artificial Turf Installation Company
