Former Kick4life Football Club Head Coach Paul Westren has left for Iceland where he has been offered a job at FC Gretta.
The former Kick4life FC Development team coach, told News4u Sport that he left the country on Thursday for Iceland where he will be working with a development team for a few months.
“I’ve been out of work for a year since June 2020 when Kick4life terminated my contract early and I was in Lesotho all that time,” he disclosed.
Westren disclosed that Lioli FC approached him after the departure of their former coach Thabile Secker in 2020.
He said ultimately beaten to the job by the late Thomas Tshabalala.
“Listen I would have taken the Lioli offer when they spoke to me. Since then I’ve had no approaches. I’m in Iceland now until end of August but if an opportunity come up after then I would consider it,” Westren said.

Westren confirmed that he was approached by Linare FC last week to be Teboho Moloi’s assistant coach, unfortunately he had already agreed to FC Gretta’s offer.
Westren revealed that he prefers to be head coach in Lesotho not an assistant, but can be assistant for a stronger league as is the case with FC Gretta.
“Linare approached me about being the assistant but that was only last week and I had already received the Iceland offer,” he said.
Paul Westren arrived in Lesotho to coach Kick4life Development team in 2018 and was appointed senior team interim head coach after the team terminated Mr. Katiso Mojakhomo due to poor results in 2020.
Westren is a UEFA A licence holder and is now doing UEFA elite youth A licence.
